Bought it Saturday. It's really great. I'm probably going to get a couple more and see if I can come up with some different liveries.

Oooh, now there's a thought. Once I get the instructions, I've probably got more than enough Lego lying around the house (we've got three huge storage bins of the stuff) to stage Le Mans. Well, Petit Le Mans. I've also got the GP car and truck to go with, and somewhere, in many pieces, my son has the Octan gasoline tanker.

I love this new line of $10 cars.

GP truck looks really cool, but I'm waiting for a price drop before I nab one.

What I really need to do is get some of those road pieces and put together a road racing circuit. Unfortunately at $15 a pop, those road places aren't cheap. I'd have to drop well over $100 to make something decent.

One can dream.

If only it was available in Martini or Gulf colors...

Is it wrong that I instantly thought up half a dozen improvements for a Le Mans competitor on a Lego car?

If you buy one, or find the instructions on line, I wonder if you could special order certain pieces in certain colors. I've never tried.

The GP truck nor the car are as cool as the Ferrari F1 cars they did a few years back. Wait for a price drop and it is worth the cash. The new race car looks insanely good and I should be receiving mine in the mail today.

LEGO offers parts that you can order online individually in any color that they make it in. If you know pieces and construction of the car, you could use LEGO Digital Designer and try to recreate it in almost any color that you want.

I have the LDD, though I never use it. I figured I'd just work from the parts list that comes in the instructions. It would be fun to build one all black, or other custom colors. Those look like all standard pieces.

What's this green part, and the red wheel arch thing beside it?

Hard to tell exactly which pieces you're referring to. I recognize the parts, but have no idea what they are officially called. I can't find instructions or a parts list on line, the set is too new.

You can see it with more precision when you click on the numbered annotation beneath the picture in the article. It'll show a square which is where I annotated.

I mostly use LDD to design my own cars similar to the old (discontinued) LEGO Racers 1:43 series.

Got it. I think the red piece is this, which is described as "LEGO Slope Curved 4 x 1 Double (93273)"

Kinja'd!!!

Not sure about the green piece. Maybe this : LEGO Part 11477 - Slope Curved 2 x 1 No Studs [1/2 Bow]
